Release Notes

September 3, 2026
Container versions: apish-web:3.0.9, apish-converter:3.0.5Features & Improvements:
  • Hardened the converter: LibreOffice macro execution is now disabled and locked, and the converter’s service account can only write to its logs and custom fonts
  • Custom font uploads now reject unsafe file names, and font file names are escaped in status messages
  • Updated the default PostgreSQL image in docker-compose.yml to 16.15
  • Relaxed the Celery health check thresholds to avoid spurious unhealthy status
Bugfixes:
  • Fixed a path traversal issue in custom font installation
  • Fixed font sync removing installed fonts when a transfer or Redis fails
  • Fixed the font management page refreshing indefinitely after a sync error
  • Fixed the Celery beat health check reporting healthy while beat had stopped
Published ports now bind to localhost only. In the updated docker-compose.yml, the converter (8080), Redis (6379), PostgreSQL (5432) and RabbitMQ (5672) ports are published on localhost only. The web service on ports 80 and 443 is unchanged, and traffic between containers in the stack is not affected. If anything outside the host connects to one of these services directly, that access stops working after you update. We also strongly recommend setting REDIS_PASSWORD, because write access to Redis grants write access to the converter’s font directory.

Container version: apish-converter:3.0.4Bugfixes:
  • Resolved security vulnerabilities identified in the API Self-Hosted v3 containers
API Self-Hosted v2 is now deprecated. The public draftable/apish repository has switched its default branch to v3, and v2 has been moved to a separate branch. Existing v2 deployments will continue to run, but v2 will no longer receive feature updates or non-critical fixes. We recommend planning an upgrade to v3. See Migrating from API Self-Hosted V2 to V3.
