Draftable Legal Group Policy Changelog

This document provides a detailed changelog of all Group Policy changes across Draftable Legal versions, from version 25.1.0 (earliest) through 26.9.1 (latest). The policies are contained in ADMX/ADML template files organized into four categories:

• Draftable.admx - Base category definition (no policies, parent container only)
• DraftableDesktop.admx - General desktop application policies
• DraftableDesktopLegal.admx - Legal edition-specific policies (DMS integrations, redline profiles, output options)
• DraftableInstaller.admx - Installation-related policies

Version 26.9.1 (Latest)

Note: The 26.9.1 template adds one policy, updates the description of two policies to reflect their wider reach, and repairs the Supported on text of two policies. The schema revision moves from 2608.1 to 2609.1 across all four ADMX files and their ADML counterparts. No policies were removed or renamed, and no registry key, value name or value type changed, so policies you have already configured keep working after you update the templates. There was no separate Group Policy template release for 26.9.0, so the changes below are listed against the 26.8.1 templates.

Replace the complete set of template files. Copy all eight files into your PolicyDefinitions folder or Central Store together, replacing the previous versions: the four .admx files go in PolicyDefinitions, and the four .adml files in PolicyDefinitions\en-US. The downloaded ZIP holds all eight files in a single folder, so place the .adml files into the en-US subfolder yourself. The 26.9.1 .admx files declare a minimum .adml revision of 2609.1 and reference new display strings, so mixing old and new files can cause the Group Policy editor to report errors about missing resources. In addition, the new policy and the repaired Supported on text only appear when each .admx file and its matching .adml file are both updated. Upgrading Draftable Legal refreshes the templates in the application’s own GroupPolicy folder, but it does not update copies you have placed in PolicyDefinitions or a Central Store.

The Free text font family setting now also applies to Text Only compare output. The registry value (FreeTextFontSetting) and its default are unchanged. The Supported on repairs are display fixes only and do not change how either policy behaves.

The 26.9.1 template files are formatted over multiple lines instead of a single line, and unused display strings were removed from the .adml files. If you compare the files with a text comparison tool, every line appears changed, but the only functional differences are the ones listed above.

Version 26.8.1

Note: The 26.8.1 template is a revision-only update. The schema revision moves from 2608.0 to 2608.1 across all four ADMX files and their ADML counterparts. No policies were added, removed, renamed or reworded, and every policy definition and display string is identical to 26.8.0.

If you have already imported the 26.8.0 templates and your Central Store is working correctly, there is no functional need to re-import. Update to 26.8.1 if you want your Central Store revision to match the shipping product version, or if you are importing the templates for the first time.

This is a Computer Configuration policy, so the value is written to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Draftable. It is read from HKLM only — a per-user value has no effect. Note also that it sits at the root of the Draftable policy key, not under a namespace such as Compare or Feature.

The OutputFilenamePatternGlobal, ThreePaneShowCommentsGlobal, and SummaryPagePosition settings were lifted from per-redline-profile settings to global (application-wide) settings in 26.6.0. They are no longer configured inside individual redline profiles.
