System Requirements

Your computers must meet the minimum technical specifications outlined below to run Draftable Legal.
Draftable Legal only supports x64 architecture. 32-bit systems are no longer supported.

ARM64 devices (Snapdragon and Copilot+ PCs)

Draftable Legal runs on Windows on ARM devices, including Snapdragon-based and Copilot+ PCs. There is no native ARM64 build. The x64 application runs under the Windows emulation layer built into Windows on ARM, which Microsoft handles transparently. No additional configuration is required. If you are rolling Draftable Legal out across a fleet of ARM64 devices, pilot on a representative machine first so you can confirm performance with your own document sizes and your Office and DMS setup.

Minimum Requirements

Software requirements:
  • To compare Word and PowerPoint documents and use the ‘Export to Track Changes’ feature, Office 2013 Pro Plus or later (including Office 365) is required.
  • Excel comparisons: Redline in Excel, Redline in Draftable and Side by Side in Draftable use Draftable’s own comparison engine. Microsoft Spreadsheet Compare is not required.

  • To perform OCR, Office 2016 (or Office 365) or later is required.
  • Opening Excel redlines: To open the exported .xlsx workbook outside Draftable, you need an application that can open .xlsx files, such as Microsoft Excel.

Network Requirements

Draftable Legal requires network connectivity for license verification, software updates, error reporting, and telemetry. Some of these functions can be disabled.

License Verification

On launch, the application will verify the product license by connecting to Draftable license servers.

Software Updates

On launch, the application will check for updates. If a major update is available, it will be automatically installed. For minor updates, the user can force an update manually.

Error Reporting

If unexpected error conditions are encountered, the application will send an error report to Draftable servers for diagnostics purposes. This can be disabled by the user (via application settings) or by network administrators (via Group Policy).

Telemetry/Usage Data

Draftable Legal uses Microsoft Azure as the host for telemetry and usage data. This means there are outbound connections to the Azure AppInsights servers. For further information, refer to the Microsoft documentation. This can be disabled by the user (via application settings) or by network administrators (via Group Policy).

Summary of Required Network Access

For a successful deployment, ensure the following hosts are accessible from your network:
All connections use HTTPS on port 443.
